About 4th Ryte

In August of 2005, Brett Naylor, received a call from Jay Ransbottom, a
drummer whom along with his brother Bart, and their nephew Chad, had a need for a lead vocalist to front a band they had gotten together. Brett accepted the offer, and asked if they minded if he bring another guitarist on board with him, Bretts long time friend Forrest Atkinson. They agreed, and the nucleus of the band was formed.

The five started jamming together in September of 05, and played their
first show, a Halloween party in late October. The show went well, and soon
another show was planned. After the second show, Chad, guitarist, decided to leave the band because of personal reasons. The remaining four members wanted to continue, and did so without missing a beat. Suggestions for band names were mulled over, and the name Forthright, which meant being honest and upfront, was suggested by Forrest. The four agreed, but opted for a more creative means of expressing the word, so they came up with spelling it 4TH Ryte. So, on New Years Eve, the band now known as 4TH Ryte, played its first show together. It was a blast, and the four guys were having a good time doing it. 4TH Ryte played a couple more gigs, and in the spring of 06, Jay decided to leave the band for personal reasons. In June of 06, drummer Steve Taylor was brought on board, and 4Th Ryte was playing gigs again. Having an absolute blast playing together, the Four guys continued to get tighter musically, and some kick ass originals were written. In February of 07, the band was gigging wherever they could, and getting ready to record their debut album, when bass guitarist Bart Ransbottom decided to leave the band for personal reasons. The search for 4TH Rytes new bass player was on, and the group decided to bring Steve's brother Randy on board. The four clicked together musically in an instant, and began gigging again, throughout the summer of 07.

In September of 07, two years since the band was formed, drummer Steve
Taylor had to leave the band due to personal issues. The bands sound man,
Andrew Glasmacher, who was an excellent drummer himself, was very eager to step in and fill the void. Andrew fit in perfect, and the band continues on!

When describing 4TH Rytes sound, one would say that it's classic rock with
a harder edge. Originals like Lonely Nights (Atkinson), What am I (Naylor,
Atkinson), Broken Promises (Atkinson), Over the Edge (Steve Taylor) and
Liar,Liar (Atkinson), lean toward a bluesy hard rock feel. Where songs like
Nevermind (Naylor,Atkinson) White Collar Hell (Naylor,Atkinson), and Angels Cry (Bart Ransbottom), lean toward a more progressive alternative rock style.   The bands debut  CD titled 4TH RYTE,  which was released in April of 2008, is currently available for download on I Tunes, CD Baby, Amazon, or from the band.   The band is currently working on new material for their second  release, which will hopefully be available by fall of 2009.  Look for the new album to be a bit more "heavy".
